A chance meeting in Murcia, Spain, between founder member Mike Hofer (Guitar) and Barry James Thomas (Guitar and vocals) led to the start of “Bad Chihuahua” Mike was looking for a vocalist for his band, Barry after watching a video of the band said “Well the drummer sounds a bit dead, but yeah zlet’s give it a go” Mikes sense of humour was to bring the drummer to Spain without warning and introduce the Dead Drummer to Barry!
Andi Hölzl is in fact an awesome drummer that just needed a little inspiration, Barry still feels embarressed about it but Andi insisted on the nickiname of DD (Dead Drummer) Styx! To keep reminding him, Andi is a drummer and percussionist who can play absolutely any genre of music, from Austrian hard rockers “Freddy’s Stoned” supporting bands like “whitesnake” on tour to playing with classical orchestras at the Mozartateum in Salzburg
Mike Hofer, Guitarist and driving force of the band, has many interests, including driving fast cars, flying fast planes and playing loud guitar solos, Mike originally started on the Clarinet under orders from family, but as soon as he picked up a Strat he told his family “NO MORE” Mike is a true Rock and blues enthusiast IT HAS TO BE LOUD!!!!
Simon Granger (guitar, production and all sorts of craziness) Simon was around the London music scene during the Punk years, and coming from a Circus family and with a love of “Rock” brings an unusual and entertaining twist to the band.
Barry James Thomas has been playing gigs since he was foutreen with various bands.
He initially was offered a record contract at the age of 9 but his mother said one singer in the family was enough! 4 years later armed with an electric guitar, he joined his 1st band, playing 175 gigs before he was 16! At 18 he joined his brothers band The Dougie James soultrain, and at 21 while playing a gig with” Soultrain” was seen by Phil Lynott (Thin Lizzy) and was impressed enough to aske Barry to work for him as a Guitarist and singing Backing vocals on his demos, As a session player Barry has worked with Phil Lynott, Edwin Starr, James Brown, Carmel and Toss the feathers, plus playing in the house band on the TV show “Men and Motors” and in the backing band for Noddy Holder (SLADE) and has recently been asked to sing with Sad Cafe on their 2019 tour.
Bene Halus-Woll is a talented session musician also based in Salzburg, playing everything from Jazz, Classical and all the way to Rock, Bene and Andi are the Heavy foundations of the Band, the precise rhythm section of the two enable the band to build up the complex arrangements of three guitars and keyboards.
Dominik Wallner is a talented Keyboard player with a love of rocking out on a 1967 Hammond B3! The attack he injects into the band is quite special ! He plays with his Prog Rock band “Blank Manuscript” and scores movie soundtracks.
